Check out my new Twitter account. Just started with it so let’s see how this goes. For current news and info, check out my “The Challenge Is On” page.
As it is written, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” (Lao-tzu 604bc-531bc) looks almost harmless enough.
However-Implementing such an idea is something that is scary – intriguing and exciting… All in one. “So just what in the world is going on here” you may be asking…
I am thrilled to be heading down a new path in the middle of my 40’s. To be exact however, it’s really two paths-One that is a new diet that I have been implementing for the last few years. The other: Is a body that I can someday be happy with and dare I say… Be proud of!
Can the two compliment each other?? The answer I want to say is YES! Over the next 6 months, I want to document everything I can as I transition from an un-healthy, wrong food eating and no workout person, to a happy and content person with life. The Timeline I have set for myself is to have accomplished 50% of my target by March 4th, 2011.
LUCKILY-I have a TERRIFIC WIFE who has helped kicked me down the path of Veganism and a healthier lifestyle. She has been Vegan for sometime now and I dare say it’s time to make the final leap to a better life.

I am in the middle of my second week and one of the things I noticed, I was way down on my calorie and a little off on my protein intake. I had a bit of a tough workout on Monday and was not happy with how I felt. I mean I pushed hard but when I got home, I was asleep from 5pm to 8. Up for a quick meal and back asleep till the alarm at 4:50am. Man I slept! But I sure have needed it. One of things I keep (try too) is a meal journal and man does that make a difference! For example today I did a better job of mapping out my intake and feel pretty good because of it. My poor wife is probably getting tired of me asking food questions but actually, were both having fun with it I think.

I finished (the day before) my first two full weeks of the new workout. Tired??? You bet-But feel pretty good knowing that gains will be there as soon as my body rehab’s from the gym. It’s funny this time, in that I have been a starter and stopper in the gym. Never following through and finishing a goal. What is different this time around is the fact that I have a PLAN. (My new favorite book “Vegan Bodybuilding and Fitness“) A specific goal I want to achieve and the means to implement it. Does it make my dog any more happy I am doing this? No-She is getting adjusted to the new routine too. And I am sure in time she will be just fine. I’m lucky to have a supportive wife who gives me the kick in the “you know what” to keep going.
